Viequense leader Carlos “Taso” Zenón dies


The Viequense leader, Carlos “Taso” Zenón, passed away today at 85 years of age, after having suffered a stroke at the beginning of November.

The Viequense, who was president of the Vieques Fishermen’s Association, was an activist in the fight against the departure of the Navy from Vieques. His efforts were focused on the sea, on challenges where he sought to prevent the bombardments on Isla Nena.

The information was confirmed by the Viequense leader, Ismael Guadalupe. “I receive the information because my niece is the wife of Yabo Zenón, Taso’s youngest son. They live next to my house ”, confirmed Guadalupe.
