
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) reported today that a tropical wave heading towards the Caribbean is being closely monitored and has a 20% probability of development in the next five days.
According to the NHC report, the wave moves west and is located in the Atlantic east of the Windward Islands. The disturbance produces limited rainfall and thunderstorm activity.
Upper level winds are expected to be more favorable for development by the middle of next week when near the Lesser Antilles and in the eastern Caribbean Sea .
The NHC has not yet specified the specific trajectory of the system or whether it will have any direct impact on Puerto Rico.
