What is known of the 171 deaths from coronavirus in Puerto Rico


In Puerto Rico, 171 people have died to date from COVID-19 according to figures from the Department of Health .

Below, what is known about each case:

1. Rosa Angela, 68-year-old Italian tourist

The Italian tourist Rosa Angela arrived on the island on the Costa Luminosa cruise ship on March 8.

The 60-year-old began to feel bad on board the ship , and that day asked for medical help. She was taken by ambulance to the Ashford Presbyterian Community Hospital, in San Juan, where she later died.

Her death was reported on Saturday, March 21, 2020.

Bruno Milani, who was the husband of Rosa Angela for 50 years , also tested positive. He remained in the Ashford until March 31.

2. 73-year-old man, resident of New York

The subject began to develop symptoms while vacationing with his wife in Puerto Rico. He was admitted to an isolation room of a hospital in the metropolitan region.

3. Lisette Matías, 48-year-old teacher

She worked at the Rincón Christian Academy and suffered from previous illnesses. The last day she was in school was Friday, March 13.
