PONCE – The young man from Ponce, Joseph Yadiel Jiménez Cartagena, artistically known as Anubis, is developing as an urban music singer with the Mass Music and Tranquility Entertainment label.
His name is due to a being whom he loved very much and who helped him discover and expose his talent. “I put my stage name in honor of a friend who passed away, we were very close. So, I have had a couple of situations in which I have been between life and death and that Anubis name comes from an Egyptian God and I put it in honor of her. It was because of her that I showed people that I had the talent, “said Anubis.
From a very young age he was exposed to music thanks to his mother singing, but although he liked music, it was not until he was 13 years old that he discovered that he also had that musical talent.
At the age of 17, he launched himself into the artistic environment recording videos for Freestyle Mania. But it was not until a year ago that he had the opportunity to record urban music with the Mass Music label.
In September 2020, he released his first songs and music videos, and since then he has dedicated himself to continuing to write and record new rap, trap and reggaeton singles to present them on different digital music platforms.
According to La Perla del Sur, he is currently working on a sacred and a secular theme that will be available in the coming weeks.
At the moment, he does not have any presentation scheduled for the matter of the pandemic, so he has decided to dedicate himself entirely to recording music and videos for digital platforms and social networks.
In the short term, he would like to record an EP, a disc with few songs, to have more musical material to share on digital platforms, so that they get to know it and in the future be able to make larger presentations.
In the long term, Anubis would like “to grow musically and personally and not limit myself only to the urban genre, but to make all kinds of music to reach the entire public,” he expressed about his future plans.
He also indicated that he would love to record dance songs and continue making music and video songs.
